McKnights: Ageism an obstacle to finding work for some, survey says

Workers aged 50 or more years are finding themselves in a pickle when looking for a new job, according to the respondents to a recent survey from CWI Labs. Ageism is alive and well, the results suggest.

Fifty-nine percent of responding older workers said they see their age as an obstacle to getting hired. Eighty-one percent of participants stated that employers want younger applicants, and 21% of the older folks looking for work said that they are optimistic that they will find a job in the next six months…
